Skoura is a lovely spot to look out at the more than 700.000 palm trees. Also, numerous kasbahs pepper the landscape. Damascene roses are grown in this valley for cosmetic purposes, such as rosewater. In May, the Rose Festival is held here. As it is a significant event in Moroccan culture. We arrive in Dades Valley, where we will spend the night.

After a quick walk through the Todra gorges, you’ll have free time for lunch in Tinejdad or Touroug before moving on to the desert and the magnificent Merzouga sand dunes.

We’ll take an hour-long camel ride to our nomad camp in the middle of a sea of dunes (Erg Chebbi). We’ll watch the sunset from the top of a dune before sleeping in a tent under a stunning starry sky.

Thousands of palm trees line the 20-kilometer path. This route brings us to the Ziz valley, where a river flows down from the high Atlas and irrigates the palm grove. We pause here to take in the beautiful view of the valley and the town of Aoufous from this high vantage point.

Later on, we will stop in Midelt. The latter is where you’ll have free time for lunch and rest for a while. In the afternoon we continue our way to the Cedar forest. Here if we have luck, we’ll see some monkeys. Our next destination is Ifrane, situated on the northwestern at 1630 meters above the water level.

The city’s vast avenues, spotless urban planning, parks, green spaces, and architecture give it a Swiss feel. In Morocco, Ifrane feels out of place.
