Day 1: Marrakech – Marrakech:

On the first day of our Marrakech Sahara desert tour, you will be picked up from the Menara airport. After that, transferred to Medina (the old part of the city). Accommodation in a Riad in Marrakech’s Medina.

Day 2: Touring in Marrakech:

Today, we will visit the main landmarks of Marrakech with a local guide. The latter will come to pick you up from the riad. Bahia Palace Souks Jewish Quarter The Koutoubia’s minaret and gardens are the most visited places of Marrakech, and we are going to explore them. As we will visit the Tombs of the Saadians. Also, Ben Youssef’s koranic school. As we will visit the souks.

Day 3: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades:

On the 3rd day of our Sahara desert tour from Marrakech, we will meet start our journey at 8:00 a.m. After that, drive over the high atlas mountains. We will make a stop at The Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters above sea level). Known Morocco’s highest mountain pass. Later We’ll have time to rest and take in the scenery, sipping freshly pressed coffee and orange juice while soaking in the stunning views of the mountains and Berber villages.

Next, We’ll go on a guided tour of Ait Benhaddou kasbah. The latter is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most impressive ksar (fortified villages). It was once on the Transaharian caravan road as they crossed the Atlas Mountains on their way to the souks of Marrakech. (This famous Kasbah has appeared in over 20 films.)

After that, we’ll drive by Ouarzazate and Skoura. we will make a stop on to the Valley of the Roses (where roses flower in the springs). Dinner and overnight stay in Dades, which is 45 minutes from the valley of roses.

Day 4: Boumalene Dades – Tinghir – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Merzouga desert:

Today our final destination is Merzouga. As we will start our trip at 9:00 Am. Our first stop will be at the Todra valley. The next will be at Gorges. Here, you can take a walk to discover these majestic and narrow gorges framed by vertiginous pink ocher cliffs. Also, a crystalline and fresh river. Then we’ll travel to Erfoud via Touroug’s palm grove. The last mentioned is where we’ll stop for lunch.

In Erfoud is where we’ll visit a nearby fossil craft. We Continue driving until we get to Erg Chebbi. It is a breathtaking expanse of undulating dunes. At the hotel, we will ride on camels to a nice environment nomadic camp. On the way, we will stop at one of the big dunes to watch the sunset. Also, to enjoy the view of Erg Chebbi dunes. We’ll spend the night and have dinner at the camp.

Day 5: Touring in Merzouga:

On the 5th day of our Marrakech sahara desert tour in 7 days. First o all, we’ll go to Khamlia, which is known for its Gnawa songs. Originated in the great African Sahara. Day 6: Merzouga – Draa Valley – The small Atlas – Ouarzazate:

You will see a beautiful sunrise if you wake up early, as the color of the dunes and the form of their shadows combine to create an unforgettable vision. After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey to Rissani, and to Nkob.

We’ll carry on to the Draa Valley via Tazzarine (which was featured in the film «Babel»). We’ll go out into the wild desert for a picnic under the shadow of an acacia tree (with a “wild cooking” lesson thrown in for good measure). The journey will lead us along the old caravan road in the afternoon to explore the real Draa Valley, complete with massive palm trees and ancient villages. Our day comes to a close in Ouarzazate.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Telouat – High Atlas – Marrakech:

We’ll pass through the Ounila Valley. Also, about 40 kilometers from Ait Ben Haddou’s Kasbah, we’ll see the Kasbah of Telouet. The latter was once served as a stopover for Sahara caravans passing through the Atlas Mountains on their way to Marrakech. It was the seat of power for the El Glaoui dynasty.

The family of El Glaoui were given political power in Morocco south of the High Atlas Mountains by King Moulay Hassan.
The palace is still open to visitors, but it is deteriorating and decaying. After that, we will cross the Tizi-n-Tichka a second time to arrive in Marrakech late afternoon.
